I know what this is. I had the same problem and brought it in to my dealer four times for it.

Its the brakes. When you release the brakes or just move. They make this sound. There is a page in the helm for it.
What it says and I did it to be sure is this.

Take the brakes off. Cut a small piece of a business card and place where they touch the sides of the brake housing. The noise will dissapear.
This worked just fine. Although the paper will dissolve soon. Not yet though even after a track day. But its just to show you that its normal and doesn't hurt anything. I was told the Honda Odeysee (spell) is real bad.
So try the paper if you don't believe me. It'll fix it till the paper goes away.

But it will come back again and again.

Okay, so I had a bit more time today, and decided to test this brake theory.

If I go into reverse and back up a bit, it clicks.
Then, without touching the brakes, I shift into first, and start going forward - it clicks. It really seems to be related to a weight shift.

That tells me that it is not related to the brakes.

Regarding the diff, I will try a slow donut later today to see if it clicks, but I know that the diff is at least working because I can hear the rears skidding when accelerating out of a corner. (There is no tread left on any of my tires, so they skid readily.)

The car IS still under warranty, but I don't really have the time to spend hours trying to get the dealer to care.

Other information that may be related is that something appears to have hit my inside wheel well, and put a dent deep enough to dent the body panel out. I actually have an outbound dent in my driver side rear quarter panel. Is it possible that the click is from the wheel well snapping against the body panel?

doubt it... mine's all clean under there, and I have the click... it's definitely not brakes.. mine continues to click, whenever weight is transfered, not just when I start... in second gear, gass it, let off - click, click - in third gear, get on the gas hard at 6k rpms after coasting - click. It's also not the differential, I can go around any corner, and not hear any noises... it seems to definitely be my driver side somewhere in the hub/suspension.

As I mentioned in another thread, I get this sound when I am in a drive-thru lane....start, stop, start, click, stop, start, click, stop. It's not the brakes because it doesn't have time for them to stick to the rotor.

I also get the brake thunk occasionally after washing the car, and it sounds different.

I was told the Honda Odeysee (spell) is real bad.
Oh so true. I also have an Odyssey and have had the pads replaced twice under warranty. The new and improved pads seem to have fixed the problem.

My S2000 makes a single click noise when I apply the brakes when backing up for the first time of the day. Its not really a problem to me and I always thought it was brake related.

What does bother me is the whoo whoo whoo noise I get at low speeds. It sounds like the noise could be a tire but they all are wearing fine. I was told by my dealer that the noise is normal because of the very large brakes and rotors. Blah blah blah.

Okay, so I did some experiments, and it is clearly NOT the brakes. After PDX's description, I listened for it at higher speeds too. It happens with EVERY weight shift, and it is not related to the diff, as I can go around in circles all I want without a peep. Not the brakes, because I don't have to touch them to produce the click.

Guess I'm takin' the car in next week....

There's been a few posts about this before, but no clear answer. I've had the same problem for 4-5 months, first my dealer said it was related to the brake pads - changed them, but no difference; I mentioned him the rumors about a diff problem, but he said it was the transmission.

Right now my car's in france, getting a new transmission under warranty. I'm getting it back soon, so hopefully the sound will be gone... if not...well at least I get a new transmission

What model year do all of you experiencing the click have? I too have the click (*definitely* not brakes), along with what sounds like a bad gear mesh whine when the transmission is under load. Short version of the story -- I'm getting a new read differential. I'm curious to see if this issue is a first-year-run problem (sure feels that way from the posts I've read on here...)

Mine is a '00, but I have only started experiencing the 'click' in the past month or two. I already had the tranny fix (one of the first, back in early '00.)

I'm waiting for my tires to come in from TireRack to bring my car in to get this checked out.

I don't want to disagree with anyone here. But Sparky try what I said ealier and then email or repost that I am wrong. I won't mind at all.
I just went through all of this myself, telling my dealer everything you all said too. I swore it wasn't the brakes for the same reasons you give. And when I put the paper on my brakes. The problem was gone. Plus I did put new brakes on as well.
Just do all four brakes. About 45 minutes worth of time. But there is a sheet on it for the dealers to see.

I just think this is common to our cars. But I don't like it. All my clicks where the same as yours. They did find once that a rod pulled out of its socket on the rear left. They replaced it but the clicks where still there.

Good luck

Keith
