Default so.. anyone regret lowering?

so i just got dropped on espelir's. and was expecting a pretty decent ride and handling. but i can't help it but to miss my stock suspension. the car seems a lot more twitch now unless i'm on perfectly smooth road. any curves with some slight bumps the car sort of responds with some weird see-saw twitch thing. i guess i keep getting the feeling that i took a car with a great suspension and screwed up the geometry.

any ideas?

oh, btw, the car is not aligned yet. .so i guess that could be part of it, but i've dropped a few cars and the alignent has never caused things like this.

the suspension was also put back together under load before torqued down.

espilirs is supposed to be really good...hard to believe that you didnt like the ride at all...You have to understand that whenever you lower the car, it will totally transform the car ride comfort at all. Il try to get them aligned first then go from there...ive got my bilstein pss for almost a yr and never complain or anything, i think because i came from integra where the ride is pretty harsh then went to s2k...

the ride comfort doesnt really strike me. .i was expecting worse.

i'm more concerned with the handling aspects. .the car seems to see-saw over bumpy curves and seems more twitch.

i had a full coilover system on my old car. so the rough ride is not a problem. i had a 400/350lb setup.

comfort wise not much has changed.. feels a bit firmer but hardly un-comfortable.

my main concern is that it feels exactly like how my old car felt when i slammed it and lost most of my suspension geometry. .on the coilvers i still had my full travel, but i would have 1-1.5 inches of travel before the suspension would bind up ...the car handled like crap until i took it up an inch.

Get it aligned and it will feel worlds better. My brother's RSX had the same problem. Before it was aligned, the car was all over the place. Afterwards, everything was gravy.

I got this advice from speedblind and I'm going to pass it onto you. I havent lowered my car yet, but when I do, I'm going to shoot for the PSS9's.

"Just get the springs. Then, get tired of the suspension bottoming out, and upgrade the shocks. Then, wish you had a greater range of height adjustment and sell the combo and get an entry level coilover. Then, get pissed at the kidney failure-inducing ride and get a decent set of adjustable coilovers that will work for street driving and still improve performance over your last 8 suspensions.

At least, that seems to be the path people take when price is a major factor and they "just want to lower it." I've done it myself, and I'll tell you now it's easier and cheaper in the long run to just spring for the coilovers."

As much as I like the looks, I will probably not lower my car at all. I already cracked my front lip at stock height.

You have to go over the speed bumps slowly

Says it ALL... Get an alignment please and then do another evaluation.

The S is not like other cars.... so once again....get an alignment.

I don't see how you would think that dropping the car on springs without and alignment would be even CLOSE to stock handling. Your probably off +- 2-3 degrees toe, cast and camber. Of course it's going to twitch and handle like crap.....

So to answer your question.... NO. I actually miss my drop.
