Default So I almost got gooned at Honda today..

Before handing over my keys I wanted a quote on the differential fluid change, so the service guy calls a tech and he relays to me how Mobil1 75w90 gear oil costs $30 a quart and I will need 3qts for my diff.

He quoted me $185 JUST for the change.......

needless to say I will be doing it myself

That is nothing less than steeling you should report this to Honda corporate. The service writer, and tech should both loose there jobs because if they truly think the rear takes 3 quarts of fluid they have no business working in there field. And if there trying to rip you off

yes it does

Report them to the BAR, every dealership shits there pants when the BAR shows up. The BAR hates shit like this and is the main reason it was created. the service writer can be fined for that

I went to the dealership to pick up differential fluid and MTF. They wanted $15 for the differential and $7 a quart for the MTF. I went to another dealership and they wanted $10 for the differential and $5 for the MTF. My dealership also wanted me to schedule an appointment to put on the honda emblem because it was going to take them a few hours to put on the emblem. I just told them to give it to me and I went outside and snapped it on. Took me a few seconds to put it on. I think my dealership is alittle shady for some reason.

Which dealership is this? Make sure you post this in your regional forum to warn your fellow s2k'ers of them.
