IMO, I would stick with the S02's simply because they're cheaper. When they run out of them, I'll probably switch to S03's. Besides, I think the wet weather grip on the S02's are just fine.

No. They are for the most part mutually exclusive. If you want higher treadwear then you give up performance to get it. BTW, comparing treadwear rating of tires by the same manufacturer (like you did) is valid, but you cannot compare treadwear ratings across manufacturers because there is no mandated procedure so each company assigns that number differently!

SO what's the deal. If Honda is putting S02's on new cars, how come you can't buy them anymore (or am I missing something?)

Are you comparing the handling of worn OEM S-02s to the handling of new S-03s (both in the dry)? I suspect if you compared the handling in the dry of both tires (when new) then the OEM S-02 would handily outperform the S-03. I agree that the S-03 is better in the wet. These tires were made for different purposes so I don't think anyone can really say one is better than the other without clarification (like in dry or wet conditions).

Tested both brands at track day, with about equal results in dry conditions, and S03's coming out superior in wet conditions. The S02's are dangerous in heavy rain. My opinion.
