Soft Top Cover - Replacement

This is what I'm using. Easy to install and release. About a minute in emergency mode (read; rain) to remove and store.

I'm looking forward to the factory cover (I'm getting one from another member) but this seems interesting too.

The roof goes up or down in six (6) seconds. Unless you use the tonneau cover and then it takes six (6) minutes. Once you get it off, say to raise the roof in a sudden rain squall ya gotta store it somewhere. You're standing in the rain all this time. I confirmed mine fit. Only time on the car.

I have the travel boot cover mentioned above as well. It is definitely faster on and off. Also, it folds up small and takes up about 1/4 the space in the trunk. I will sell mine if anyone is interested. I never use it.

In those rare instances where I want to use such a cover, I do like the look of the OEM cover. When not in use, it's not being stored in the trunk of the car. By the way cosmomiller, I was serious, I'd really would like to see how you're able to get your OEM cover in place and then back off so much quicker than most everyone else.

Thanks. My car is purely for pleasure driving and I don't take it out unless the weather is nice, so I expect I'll have it on a lot. I still want the option to put the top up if needed (living in NY, sometimes rain just happens) but I think the cover looks much cleaner than having the soft-top flopping around while I'm on the highway (exaggerating a little, ha)
I've only used mine 2 or 3 times in the 10+years I've had the car. It is more of a hassle, but you are welcome to the extra one I have.

So I was able to get my hands on a tonneau cover (thanks roel03!) and must agreed with everyone, that was A LOT of work to get on. My first attempt failed badly and I was advised to get the modifry soft-top straps to help the top go down farther. To be honest, the straps didn't do must; the convertible arms still stick out a bit. However, it must have been a marginal improvement because I was able to get the tonneau cover on.
Took me a good 5 minutes though. not something I'd want to do every time I park the car somewhere it'll be out of site for a prolonged period of time.

I’ll ask one more time: cosmomiller, how about a short video of how you go about installing and removing your OEM soft top cover?

Thanks for sharing Deckoz. You're pretty efficient at installing the cover. A fair bit faster than myself, but also quite a bit slower than cosmomiller's noted time.
