Default Soft Top Question

Its been really hot and humid here in Atlanta lately. I rode with the top down for an hour or so and left the top down while we were visiting with the inlaws. Rode an hour home with the top down. I got home-started to put the top up and when I went to latch it down it seemed "far off" to where the latch really had to pull the top flush. I didn't feel right about it..so I tried to unlatch it and I couldn't. The latching mechanism seemed stuck, or the spring wasn't releasing the latch hook or whatever. I finally got it unlatched and put the top completely back and re-did the process...same thing-it just seemed that the two latches were having to pull a lil "extra".
Its a MY01, 18K on the clock (prolly irrelevant). Anyone experience this? Could it be the heat and its effect on the rubber maybe? Motor out of sync? What if any maintenance should I being doing to the top? Please don't tell me that we have problems with the motorized tops too

Its been 100 degrees down here dude....... metal expands and warps...... it is not a problem. Just grab the handle iin the middle, pull it into place and latch it. No biggie.
