Default Soft top repair

So you guys on the chat on the front page said the reason my soft top was getting stuck a little too high is because of the straps being worn and I should get the modify ones to replace them. Price is crazy though right for two bits of elastic :/

http://www.modifry.com/products/ctf/index.htm

So looked in my car and the straps look fine? Not frayed or anything? Only thing is there are not very strong any more I guess and have lost some elasticity? I mean I can put a coulple of fingers under easy as it's quite flimsy. Is this what you mean? Should it be nice and tight when roofs up?

Also as per pic below my patch is coming off. The patch was put there by previous owner as a way to prevent the top ripping so under it there's no damage. My question is what should I use to glue it back on? Could this be causing the roof not to go down fully?

Many thanks.

E6000. it is like super super glue. that will hold the patch down.
