Default Soft top repair/ caliper paint

Had a little extra time this weekend and decided to take care of some slight tears in my top (1/4" long)
heres what I used
1. Slime 2" tire patches.
2. Slime rubber cement.
3. some scissors to trim the gray ring on the patch off.
4. A means of cleaning the soft top. I used a tooth brush and some soapy water to clean around the cut.

Next I wanted to do something with my calipers and the standard ricer red isnt really eye pleasing.

I painted the face White then applied the S2000 vinyl decal. painted the caliper black and after everything dried pulled off the vinyl sticker and was left with this.

Thanks! I think it would look a little better if the face smoothed out.

got the same rims as you, except mine are in shadow chrome

OT i've got a slight tear/hole in mine...is it hard to do it yourself? i was going to just get someone to patch it up and plastic weld the top so it's less noticeable...

btw i can't seem to see the images you uploaded in your post :S

yeah i dont know why they wont show. If you click the photobucket link you can look through the whole album. As for the soft top repair, the way i did it you are limited to a max of a 1.5 inch tear no holes. Im using a 2" round tire patch with the rubber cement. and it was very easy to do myself. I have since added these patches to the hard wear areas as a precaution. Also if you go this route you need to put them on the inside as you wouldnt want people looking at a black rubber circle on the outside of your car.

umm my crack/hole would be no less than half a .5", would you mind uploading some pics on how it looks on the outside?

to Decazo, the outside looks like a little seam. Like i said this really only works for small tears that can be pulled back to a closure.

to abroke1, whats on the caliper isnt a decal, its paint. I used a decal however as a template. You can find them on EBAY for like $5. I painted the caliper white first, applied the decal, painted the caliper black (or your final color) and peeled the decal off. If you just apply the decal it WILL peel off within a mile of driving. Its just plain vinyl.

I can't speak for the decals from eBay, but I bought my decals from motogfx.com and they have not peeled off (about 2k miles since I did my calipers and decals). Here's my write up on the process I went through if you want more details:
