Soft top replacement
I am looking at replacing my 05 with a new soft top. Can anyone comment on what I should be looking for. I see some go with the OEM Honda original and others with the Robins top. As for the Robins top I see two choices the Haartz Twillweave or the Haartz Stayfast top. Not sure which to choose, any help is appreciated.
Thank you.
Thank you.
In my experience - having driven for 7 years with the OEM top and now 18 years with the Convertibles Only top - the aftermarket top flops around in the wind a bit more, and the latches seem to rattle a lot more than the original. That said, after reading on this forum and in the Service Manual about the soft top tensioner adjustments, it could be that my installer just didn't tighten the after market soft top enough. If you have a choice between the OEM and aftermarket, I personally recommend the OEM.
However, if your only choice is aftermarket, then http://www.convertiblesonly.com/ is a good choice, Despite my disappointments, the top has lasted 18 years and still looks like new.
I’d just like to say that I’m located in Ontario Canada for those who can’t see my profile.

I am having the top on my S replaced as we speak. My car sits outside a decent amount especially when I drive to work, so I bought a vinyl top from GAHH.
Looks aside, all of the installers I talked to said the vinyl tops require less maintenance (which is what I wanted) and are generally more weatherproof. I can deal with not having the deepest black cloth top.
GAHH was also highly recommended over Robbins even though they may be owned by the same parent company. The top was a little more expensive than Robbins, but apparently there are fewer issues with glass bonding. It also seems to be the preferred brand for Porsche and Bentley owners which gives me greater peace of mind.

There is an Ontario in CA and there is an Ontario in CA. One is in Canada and the other is in California. Both are in the middle of nowhere depending on your view!
There are a lot of roads out west here with the name Canada. However, everyone pronounces it Can A duh instead of Can ah duh.
I spent many, many layovers in Winnipeg in the beginning of my airline stint. Thought that was in the middle of nowhere but I really do like Winnipeg.
Almost took 3 year orders to Cold Lake Alberta to fly F-18s but opted for warmer Pensacola FL!

I don't know anything about those 2 optional companies; however, my understanding is that Honda no longer manufactures these in-house but there are OEM quality tops offered by serval companies. I would suggest checking your Honda dealer for references/referrals. Sierra Auto offers replacement tops and can be also found on Amazon. I have an original OEM top on my 2007 S2000. The soft top looks fine but is showing some stress wear. I may be thinking of replacing mine too in the future. Good luck!
