Softer Suspension
Oh the abuse!
Yeah, 400 pounds ain't much. 200 pounds/seat, though seems pretty normal glancing at my cars
Our 4-door Subaru Legacy is rated at 850. And my 3-row (2+3+2) Expedition just under 1500.
But no one looks at the cargo capacity even if they look at the tire pressure specs.

If its tires or suspension, and you modify those (for performance or as here for comfort), what effect does that now have on cargo capacity?
It's not the tire capacity which on my car adds up to 5666 pounds. Minus the car's listed curb weight of 2864 pounds indicates an extra capacity of 2802 pounds -- just a tad over that 400 pounds on the door jam sticker.

I did the Fluidampr too.
Just to set expectations though, it's always going to be a noisy and cramped car. Noisy in particular is a few things not easily addressed:

- minimal sound deadening
- creaks and rattles inherent in driving a 10+ year old convertible
- short gearing, high RPM at highway speeds
- no balance shafts
If you really want soft, get the Konis and four '00-'01 front springs (219 lb/in, softest OE springs).
Or for the rear, you could use the next-softest OE springs, the '02-'03 fronts (246 lb/in), or the '04-'07 fronts (262 lb/in).
If the car ends up too wallowy in turns and you want to regain some roll stiffness, get '00-'01 F&R swaybars. (The '02-'03 rear bar is almost as stiff; in fact both AP1 rear bars are stiffer than the CR rear bar!)
Bottom line: get an AP1, some Konis, and maybe a set of front springs from any '00-'07. Put the softer of the front springs in front and the stiffer in the rear. Keep the ride height as close to stock as possible, since you'll be getting more than usual suspension travel. Then, relax and enjoy!

But...your way does retain the stock ride height. I think PSS9's drop the car like 0.5" at their tallest setting
