Why are you not understanding this? MacGyver was being tailgated. The risk for being rear ended was already in place!!!

Oh, wait, are you advocating that a guy in a Ferrari would run it up to 180 MPH on a public highway as a "safety precaution" to avoid being rear ended???

<sigh> As I mentioned in my second posts, traffic was all around us, which means the only place I could have gone was forward. The person to my right saw this guy being an ass and decided to get out of there, too. As he was pulling ahead of me, the shit tailgating me shot into the right lane...it was at this point I realized he was going to pass me and shove himself in front of me. If I had not hit my brakes, he most likely would have hit my front bumper, and owing to his increasing speed he might have also hit the rear bumper of the guy in the right lane trying to get out of there.

Driving an expensive car, driving a $2 car, it doesn't matter...I have NO intention of being rear ended at 75 mph (or at 1 mph). Your overt suggestion that I value my life less because I drive a car costing 1/6th that of a Ferrari is not only offensive and off base, it's ludicrous.

You either don't get it, or you don't care to get it. Either way, if you ever breed I hope you don't teach your offspring the same lessons you're trying to teach here. This isn't a "I started to race, backed off, then he tried to run me off the road" type of scenario...I did nothing wrong, I politely told the guy to back off, and I did what I could given the circumstances I was placed in. The guy wasn't mad because we disagreed on who was right and who was wrong, he plain wanted to cause me to wreck. If you're too shortsighted to see that, then do the rest of the conscientious drivers out there and keep it parked in the driveway

Mac also stated that he did not brake, but he merely tapped it as a warning. I personally would have brake checked the guy, because the rear end would be his fault, but then I would do it depending on the car I was in. Why should he go to the trouble of pulling to the side, just to justify that punks actions? Plus how would he get rear ended tapping on the brakes just enough to activate the lights? I also stated that my own friends would have just tailgated looking for the race. That's the thing to do to incite a race besides the usual stare down, and hazard lights. Yes they are my friends, but I cannot condone their actions and I am totally opposed to hitting up people to race like that.

Brake lights don't tell you how hard someone is braking.

You know a few years ago I saw a liscense plate frame on Streetglow's (don't flame me yet) website. It was supposed to be coming soon, and at the bottom had a LED section where you could scroll text...kinda like those cafeteria things they have. Here is a link if you are still having trouble picturing the scroller

http://www.led-signs.com/displays/lso_416c.htm

Anyway it seemed like an awesome idea with loads of potential for a bunch of different reasons (if you could have on the fly pre-programmed expressions, tap a button and they scroll across for example saying Piss off or something).

Well that was late '01/early '02 and I haven't seen it since or anything like it. I would imagine they bagged it either for legal issues or simply taste issues (every ricer in America could put interesting text on their very own plate frame!!!).

Maybe we can make an S2K exclusive version
