Default Some quick help w/ my clear light conversion

I am in the process of clearing my headlight corners now and wanted to ask people about how they did their turn and running lights? Did u leave them as the clear bulbs that it comes w/, or change them to piaa whites , or change them to amber/yellow?

Thanks guys!!

I was under the impression that you need amber or yellow lights for the turn signals.

we are what feels like 20 % into successfully removing the light from the glue hell. Anybody out their with some tips about how hot is too hot? Its starting to seperate on the corner but damn.. its so hot to hold and try to pry apart at the same time..

ugh..

Ozy,

I did it myself: Check out pictures for reference on http://www.xs4all.nl/~pwb/s2000/10jun01.html at the bottom of the screen.

The rim gets totally distorted when you try to pry it apart, this is the only way to do it though! You'll need to heat up the rim pretty damn hot before the glue becomes liquid enough to take apart.

If you put everything back together, make sure the complete rim is very hot again (don't worry, those lamps can withstand a rather high heat) and push the lamp together at once. Make sure it is completely in!!!!!!!! Let it cool down before you go further.

I heated up those little clamps around the rim one by one and than pressed them 'closed' and kept them while blowing some air over it so they'd harden out in that position.

Make sure you go around the complete edge with some heat resistant silicone sealer.

DON'T clean the inside of the headlamp lens with anything other than just a soft cloth, because it has a special coating in it!!

Finally, GOOD LUCK!!!

Siepel

PS
I left the white turnsignals in, but I will replace those bulbs with amber ones. Also, because the side reflector has been taken out I have put amber parking lights in (PIAA lamps) to not wake up any sleeping dogs...

Oh yeah,

Don't aim the heat onto the clear lenses, but only to the black plastic (that's where the glue is anyway!) to prevent any damage to that part that you can actually see when mounted.

Regards,
