I grew up in LA and moved to coastal Orange County 15 years ago. Looking down on Orange County is one of the standard Westside (fashionable part of town) activities. (Yes, I did it too.) However, I usually get a wave back or at least a nod from other S2000 drivers, who--like all of us--often don't have a free hand to wave because they are busy shifting. This includes the numerous UC Irvine undergrads who seen to own many of this model Honda in OC. Of course some of these guys (they all seem to be male) get bug-eyed too and must be thinking, "Who's the old fart in the S2000 with that gorgeous woman?" (I'm married to her.) I get waves returned in Long Beach almost all of the time as well.
Of course, I live in a small town where strangers still say "Hello" and smile when passing on the street. In LA, like many drivers, I don't want to be misunderstood as "dissing" someone, resulting in having to get bullet holes taken out of my car!

He prolly scouted your car from a distance, seeing you aren't female was pissed off and didn't bother to waste his time. Some people are weird like that - like someone I know.
Let's see, reasons to buy a roadster:
1. The extra room for passengers
2. The exceptional stereo system
3. All the extra room in the trunk for trips
4. To drag race
5. To belong to special group of auto enthusiasts
when I get the S - and that is soon - I'll wave, cause you, well, belong!!!!!!!!!!!

well in response to some of your comments....
to ohio racer ... it was a sebring silver one (just like mine, minus the rims
to 02spas2k......if you want a car to get from point A to B then buy a frigin' Buick
not a one of a kind roadster
and to sokitset....since you browse this board then you are obviously looking to
belong to this organization, and if not then what in the hell are you doing here, if you looking for parts then surf the damn web, but you obviously are here doing more than that since you replied to this thread...i served in the United States Navy and you can bet your A$$ that everytime i see someone in the military that i give some sort of recognition...just as motorcycle ryders do, people in jeep wranglers, etc......but then again i guess i'm in the wrong for trying to be friendly towards other s2k drivers..............anyway, i didn't join this board to argue with others, so try pulling your head out of your a$$ and seeing things from another perspective!

In SoCal in my neck of the woods I get a good amount of other S2000 drivers to waive back. The ones that don't waive back usually tuned out and not paying attention to the road or what's happening around them... Which is another problem all together...
