Someone help please!
Hello everyone i have a problem with my car on long journeys or if in a traffic jam where im off and on the clutch alot, my S2000 seems to feel like the engines flooded and when i put my foot down to accelerate the car jumps several times (like when you first started driving as i used to call them kangaroo hops) but when i stop and give the engine one big rev it will drive fine so im not sure if its one of a few things, SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!
Im gunna get the car sorted this month with a nice big service and maybe have to get the car plugged into a machine to see the problem (hopefully it will show up)
I thought it was the aftermarket air filter sucking too much air in so i changed back to standard but after a while i noticed it was still doing it.
Just so you know i have a Spoon N1 cat back exhaust system if that makes a difference to anyones ideas (standard cat) could the cat be the problem??
Brilliant if anyone has heard of this before or if its happened to them
Thanks again Tim

i think i have experienced this a couple times..
is the car kinda lunging forward then stopping then lunging forward again. its kinda like if you stomped on the gas, released the gas, then stomped on it again... ?

Your RPMs are too low. You're bogging the engine because you are not used to the high revving nature of the F20C.

What do you mean by "the car jumps" ?
Do you mean it actually lurches forward and shakes or that the engine just surges up and down?
Did the Check Engine light ever come on?

Too much play in the driveline. Unfortunately many cars came with it stock.
Go under and grab the driveline and see how far you can turn it then grab any other car you have and do the same thing. I'll bet the S has twice as much play.

Actually, I think it's the very infamous "heat soak" bog. Very common on S2000s. I had it with stock intake as well as PRM intake.

PS: What was the aftermarket air intake you had?
