Default Soon to be new Austin s2k owner with some questions

Greetings everyone.
Just wanted to introduce myself as a soon to be new stook owner. I've been lurking here for the past couple weeks and I really like what I see. You guys seem to be quite a supportive and creative bunch.
My name is John Wolsch. I have lived in Austin Texas all my life (30 years ). Network Administrator for work, hardcore computer gamer for play.
I had pretty much made the decision to order an S2000 and was trying to decide between yellow and silver/red. I wasn't having much luck deciding on my own and all the flipped coins landed on edge just to annoy me. Finally I had just about decided to order a yellow and sit and wait several months for either a last 2001 or a first 2002 when the local dealer calls and says the July silver/red thats coming in is suddenly available. I went then .

Problem solved.

So my new silver/red will be here sometime next month and I gotta pick out some of the nice accessories that are available. I'm looking to start out with the muz floor and well mats but not sure what colors to pick. I can't find any good pics of the roof mat area so I can't tell what color scheme will fit in nicely. Any silver/red owners got any info for me? And on the floor mats I saw Ricks post where he changed out the red carpet for the black, looked pretty sharp. I may want to do something like that after I live in it myself for a bit so I would want the floor mats to work well with the red or black. So any suggestions along these lines or any other things I gotta have as a first time s2k owner just let me know.
Great car, great people, great board

Rick's leather console cover is an absolute must. It covers up that cheesy spray-on fuzz that passes for carpeting on the center console.

Welcome, John!

Please join us, even pre-car, for our happy hour! This week, I have yet to post it, but it will take place at the Alligator Grill at 2222 and 620 (I think? I'm still new to the area).

Feel free to PM me for more information, and we hope to meet you there!

I have a black/red, which is kinda close. The red/red Muz roof well mat works wonderfully - I don't really notice it though. I also have the black with red trim one-piece Muz floor mats, and they're great. They compliment the rest of the interior nicely.

It's 4am. I'm about to pass out. 'Night.

You can thank me. I was inline for that one at First Texas Honda. Tom called me and asked if I wanted to wait for a black one that is coming in august. Since I really wanted black, I said sure. Tom is a cool guy.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. Thanks for the invite Sondra. Thanks for the car gabedude
I'll break her in nice and easy, no worries about that. This will be my first manual tranny, I've driven a couple but not for any length of time. My current car is a 92 TransAm, 350 w/auto, so this should be QUITE a change. Nothing quite like gobs and gobs of torque at barely 2k rpm. I imagine handling should feel pretty familiar with power in the rear and ultra stiff chassis, not counting the extra 800+ lbs my car has to throw around. One of my biggest regrets is not getting one of the 89 TA's with the Grand National turbo engine. I test drove one with a friend and it was the fastest damn thing ever, just wasn't quite ready to buy a car at that time. Oh well, back to playing Baldurs Gate. You guys rock
