My dealer told me that my car was not subject to this recall. They said they checked the VIN # and determined that the plugs in my car were OK. The car was shipped to the US in July, and I bought it on 8/1/02.

Has anyone else with a ship date in July been told the same thing?

 

The ship date may not have anything to do with your VIN #. Your dealer may be correct. There is a post somewhere that shows the different spark plug #. Maybe you can search it to find out if it truly has been corrected.

 

VINs ...0001 to ...6983 for MY02s need the work done.

 

I assume you refer to the last 4 digits of the VIN

 

He is and I think the build date was before May 2002. All cars built after that date had the new plugs installed @ the factory.
