Go figure. Simple fix, as long as they don't strip the threads. 5 years down the line, the heads maybe fatigued.

I had mine checked at the first oil change at 5k, all were at spec. They thought it was an odd request.

I went ahead and tightened mine anyway. #4 did look the most white out of the rest that were greyish white.

My plugs were all tighten to the 25-30lbs range whe xviper checked them for me. My 02 is in the 0001 to 0025 range.

Actually, the #4 was much higher than this if my memory serves me right (closer to 38ft#). This would be a great chance for you to get new plugs and have them torqued down correctly. I was reluctant to back those off since the crush rings were already over crushed. Did you ever look into getting some new crush rings?

thought i heard that the plug was the same but the washer is new from a fellow in holland where they are doing this tsb already.

It IS in lb-ft.... but I'm not clear on whether they are new, as in *different*, spark plugs, so don't go tightening your stock plugs to 18 lb-ft just yet til we know more...
