Special Tool to remove oil filter??? Help needed ASAP
I wanted to get my oil changed before I put 2000 miles on the car going down and back to s2k days. I can't make it my dealership today so I want to take the car to my local mechanic. I was reading the owners manual looking for the spec's on the oil filter when I came across the line on page 159 stating that a Special wrench ( available from you Honda dealer) is required to remove the filer WTF? I called my dealership and asked the service manager and to my surprise he tells that a special tool is indeed needed.
So what's the story? Can't I just take the car to my mechanic?
Please help. I'd like to get this done today if possible.
Thanks -- Tom

I know you need yours now, but here's the link to order from HandA for those who do not need it immediately:

NJ,
I pop mine off with my hand, no special tool needed. Oh, and if you ever get a tough one and don't have a tool, shove a screwdriver through the canister and use it as a lever to twist...messy, but it works.
Side note...you may want to consider leaving your oil in longer than 2000 miles. See the S2ki FAQs about the special oil honda uses for the break-in period.

I tighten mine by hand as well. But when I cant get one off for whatever reason, I use a really large "channel locks" (you know those pliar looking things), and I can take it off in no more than two seconds.
