I have had my S for almost 3 months now, and I've nearly put 5,000 miles on it. I constantly look forward to driving it. It always puts a smile on my face.

Enjoy your car!

Definitely feeling you!

I know this sounds a little crazy, but driving the s2000 feels like a dream sometimes. Like after I get out, I think...WOW, what was that sensation? The feeling of being wrapped in the cockpit lost in a world of beautiful sounds and precision. I sound like a crazy person, but sometimes I'm afraid I'm gonna have to wake up. lol.

I came about mine in a bit of a roundabout way. My daughter had an '01 Beetle and it was one of the worst cars we've ever owned. Her boyfriend found a MY01 on the net and we went to look at it. It was stock and very clean with about 95k miles. (We didn't know until later that the dufus previous owner had used gear oil instead of tranny fluid, so it cost us a tranny rebuild.) But she fell in love with it, we bought it, and then she went on spring break - leaving me with the car for a week. It was the most fun I've had in a car since my '62 Vette in college (ok, so I'm old...). When she took it back, I decided I needed one so I went looking. My local dealer had an '09 CR which I test drove and put a deposit on. But on reflection, I'm really a ragtop guy - I need to be able to go wherever, whenever without worrying about the weather. Sorry guys, but track performance is not as important as fun and convenience for me. But as I continued looking, I found a cream puff MY07 with 6400 miles. HOTDAM!. It's now in my garage and gets driven when the weather warrants. I'm in Houston, so right now the heat and humidity make it somewhat uncomfortable - but when fall, winter, and spring arrive, it will be out more than it has been recently. I'm better with the top down in 50 degree weather than in 98 degree weather.
We still have both cars (both yellow) and couldn't be happier. I even had a random thought the other day about trying to find another cream puff (maybe '09) and putting it in a garage for my later life - or when my '07 wears out.
Sorry about the color, but I really like my yellow when all I see is a sea of black, tan, silver, and a few red.

I can totally relate! Although I bought my Suzuka 80mi away from San Diego in Long Beach, but the drive was just as thrilling! Now, a year and a half later, I just finished installing headers and OMG I'm in love again <3 Every mod brings me that much closer to nirvana.

How does a Lotus Exige/Elise compare to the S?
Thats a grt car , no question ...but wayyy to small ..its like a toy on the road , and a weapon on the track ...if i wanted a track only car ..that would be it .Imo the S is much more of a "real car " ..I've driven my S tens of thousands of miles in a yr ...don't think that would be the case if I owned a Lotus .
