Just had a quick question for you all...

I was pulled over the other night driving (susposedly) 80 MPH in a 45 or 55 mph zone. I was on my way to pick up my wife from work when I was pulled over. First thing the Officer said to me was "Where are all your home boys?" I don't like to be stereotyped, but this Officer didn't care. Anyways...back to the point.

I'm 20 years old and this is my second ticket. Last one I got was about a year ago. I don't think I can go to traffic school since it hasn't been 18 months since my last ticket.

Anyone have experience with hiring an Attorney to fight the ticket? Any information would be appreciated. BTW, it was around 11:30 pm on a Monday night. Susposedly the area I was in is consider a high risk area, since Racers (ricers) tend to go there a lot [Reason I was stereotyped]

Also...just curious. How many tickets have you had since you've owned the STOOK?

Zero tickets for me. I use a radar/laser detector, but if other cars are not on the road then chances are that might not help you 100% either.

I suggest you do a search under "tickets" and you will find a lot of good threads on this subject with good and bad advice. Goodluck.

I would fight the ticket in court. Subpeona the officer's notes on the ticket. If the officer doesn't show up in court, the ticket would be dismissed.

When I got a ticket a few weeks ago, the officer that cited me told me to fight it because there is a 50/50 chance he won't show up.

always go to court
99.9% of the time if they don't dismiss the case altogether they'll reduce the charge to something that carries no points and only a fine. I've done that every single time i've gotten a ticket and i have a clean license cause of it. it's worth just showing up...the city is more interested in the money for the fine than giving MV points.

p.s. my sister is a partner in her law firm...this is the advice she's given me.
