Spoon Battery
#4
I bought an Odyssey brand dry cell battery, and the Stook still starts instantly. I saved 14.5 lbs over oem, more than the weight of a Spoon wheel. I think the dry cell battery I have is similar to a Spoon one, at over $100 savings.

Read up on specs to determine if it will meet your needs. I think for those with an aftermarket alarm with long time between starts and little drive time, this might not be the best.

The Spoon battery weighs 13.5 lbs vs OEM 21 lbs, and Spoons bracket is 1 lb lighter than the OEM, thus Prolene's battery saving 14.5 versus the Spoons savings of 8.5 leaves a 6 lb, (.5 hp) advantage and a hundee in your pocket.

The Spoon battery holder is very nice, but the Odyssey battery is 3mm too wide for the Spoon holder. One can compensate for this by putting more padding in the base and bending the mounting tabs out a little. The Spoon battery holder positions the battery farther back, and perhaps just slightly lower.
