it's a good product, yes there's a "pitch" like someone said before but they widen the flattened area to make up for the flow.

of course it's not going to as much flow as a velocity stack intake pointed at the bumper but just ask any snorkel owner how dirty is their airbox, there's alot more outside/colder area entering the system, the dirt/leaf/sand is a good indication

I think even my AUT plate with the opening for the airbox helps a lot at high speeds. I don't notice at 50+, but at 90+ it's there for sure. I'm not even sure its the fact more air gets forced in... I think it's just the lack of hot air from the engine being sucked in.

so the only way to accurately measure it is with a datalogger (like a G-tech) while running at speed.
This has got to be a joke. The Gtech is the most inaccurate tool available.

haha Jim, don't worry.. I hope you enjoy it I just never noticed what kind of difference it made at speeds 50mph+ until I took it off..
Het Geoff, I have a fiber glass copy of the Spoon that I purchased from Aus I think back in 03. I would be willing to send it to you for free or I might consider a lease for the Spoon. haha

I notice a increase in gas milage when I installed mine. Since I drive mostly highway the snorkle is used to its full effect. My last tank I got 297 miles and when I filled up I pumped in 10.4 gallons, so thats about 28.5 MPG which I think it pretty good for a s2000.

I noticed an increase at speed with the Mugen Style intake E-autosports sells over the K&N FIPK kit I on before . Nothing major, but it does seem to have better response when attempting to pass someone at freeway speeds

I was thinking about getting one of these. Anyone hear think of making there own? Isnt it just a tubing directing air to the intake.

I have the Ings+1 Kit which has a opening, and was thinking about making one out of either: fiberglass, plastic moldings, etc which ever is best.

Your thoughts/suggestion?

It wouldn't be the first choice. A GPS datalogger would be a better bet, but you can get accurate readings from accelerometers if they are used correctly. My G2X has both GPS and standard accelerometers and the results track together nicely. If anything the accelerometers provide a smoother data sample.

I bought a replica Spoon Kelvar intake and it wasn't a huge difference but if felt like the motor is less 'restricted'... I was happy with my purchase since it was half the price of Spoon. You can check out my detailed pictures here -> http://www.chillybanana.com/S2000/index.ph...S2000%20Snorkel

Hi guys. As a past manufacturer of these style of snorkels I would say that they provide an increase in hp equivalent to a Tornado Vortex Generator and Ground Wire kit combined!

What they do change however is stop start driving. When you open the throttle and the engine takes a huge gulp you can be assured it is ingesting ambient temperature air, not heat soaked underbonnet fumes.
