Default Spugen exhaust, stock resonators

I have a Spugen dual with oval canisters and round tips and it sounds/looks great, but drones something awful inside the car at 60-70 mph. I will be replacing my cat with a Megan testpipe (stock exhaust sized piping) this spring and I was thinking of having my stock resonators welded in to my Spugen exhaust (basically cut off the first few feet of the Spugen and replace it with that corresponding stock section). Has anyone tried it or having any feedback on it? The stock piping is almost as big (2.4" vs. 2.5") so I'm not thinking it will have much effect on power. Anything I'm missing?

I'd say that welding the stock resonator in would be a good idea (you'd probably want to include the little tube resonator that sticks out to the side too)

I remember seeing a few people that have done this with their invidia exhausts and it was supposed to help cut drone somewhat.
