i had same problems
ur air bag wont deploy
and u have to take ur car to dealer to find out what it is (they charge inspection fee to find out what it is )
and pay whatever to fix the problem
i think u could turn it off somehow
but it wont solve the problems so i would say take ur car to dealer and have them fix it for you

It's the Supplemental Restraint System, air bags and seat belts. Something is wrong or at least the indicator thinks something is wrong. You don't want to turn the light off, you want to get the problem fixed. Take it to the dealer ASAP. I would anyway.

The SRS light came on in my Tundra at 59K. They said it was my passive restraint computer sensor needed replaced ($700 for part). I checked my extended warranty and found out it didn't cover the passive restraint system. Smart insurance company I guess. The Toyota dealer said it was a common failure item. Something to look forward to in the future too? I hope the S2K doesn't attain the same track record with passive restraints.

just a reminder:

if you take your car in for emissions, the SRS light will go on and will turn off by itself within the first couple of miles you drive off from the emission station.

It's trying to tell you something, and that something is "Discover the efficiency and efficacy of the s2ki search function; this has been discussed before".
