SRS light does not come on..

SRS light does not come on..
I just noticed when I turn the ignition switch to ON II position, the SRS light still does not come on. The manual says it should come on for a few seconds if everything is functioning correctly.
I bought the car used with some parts missing.
Do you think my airbags could be missing?
Is there a way to check if the airbags are in there??
I love how the car drives, but I think i made a mistake of buying one with parts missing. I just hope the airbags are in there...

wouldn't the center of your steering wheel be missing without airbags 
In any case, it could be the sensor. My SRS light doesn't shut off and I was told my sensor needed to be replaced
