Standing Start RPM's ?
I have done some searching and most of what I've read discusses launching the S for the fastest possible get going - i.e. dumping the clutch and/or slipping...
My question is this - for those of you that are not racing yourselves or anyone else for that matter - if your looking for a smooth and purposefull start from standing how high do you rev the engine before you begin to engage the clutch?
excuse me in advance for any possible redundancy ... & thanks.

In general I'd say about 2500-3000 for a smooth start, like daily driving in traffic and not pushing it at all. But I have a habit of starting with the lowst possible RPMs, around 1500, and usually get a smooth start. As you get used to the car you'll be able to start lower. But I think it really just depends on your driving style. I'd say do whatever you're comfortable with (within reason).
