Hello all.

I have a question regarding starting on a cold morning. Now understand that I live in Vegas and when I mean cold were talking about 35-40 degrees in the morning. Not freezing Anyway, when I start the car up in the morning it dies out after a couple of seconds, I can keep it from dying out by stepping on the gas but won't this hurt the engine in the long run?. It only happens when the car has been sitting overnight.

[green]You're probably ok as long as you don't rev it up before the oil heats up. If it's still under warranty I'd have the dealer check it out.[/green]

It may be the oil 10w30. I experienced a slow start with my s2000 when i had to park it out in the cold (20F) for hours.

You're probably going to have to park it at your dealer outside overnight in order to replicate the problem. Mine has set out in sub-freezing weather for several hours and I have never experienced a similar problem. Good luck.

Not to worry. I live in much colder temperatures and can't drive mine every week, not to mention every day. Cold starts were a bit of a problem when new - it wanted to chug until I blipped the throttle. The computer probably has a "training" sequence - notes probelms when starting and makes minor modifications until it works properly. My cold starts after 800 miles or so are flawless, even after sitting for a week or two in 10-30 degree F temperatures...
