Having previously owned three different Porsche's then back to back comparison of a base Boxster vs. an S2000 I think I can confidently say the Porsche's very nice BUT it's NO S2000!!!

Called a dealership the other day.. A typical service at 7500 miles is $2-300. Someday I'd love the ability to have to pay for these.... on a 911

You've got to admit, there's nothing quite like popping the hood of a Boxster to admire the engine!

When I bought my s2k 2 years ago I seriously prices out a Boxster S. The Porsche would have cost me about $63K with all the options that I wanted like the "the sports suspension and the Interior badge". To me $63k-$33k = $30k = the price of Porsche status and heritage. It wasn't worth it for me.

Most people just look at my car and say, "What is that, it is beautiful?" I just kiss my car window, and look at them. Then with out emotion. "It's JUST a Honda!"

Care to enlighten us as to how much a oil change is? I thought I had a fairly reliable resource....Other than the fact that you MUST take it to the dealer unless you know how to pull the engine out of those things to get at the filter?
No, you can do it yourself. Here is the FAQ. http://www.986faq.com/7-0/oil.asp

I always thought that a typical oil change on a Porsche was around $90.
That has more to do with the amount of oil 10+ quarts, the dealer markup on the oil and filter and the dealer labour.

Has anyone else ever noticed that you can pick the Americans out of a group because they are the ones who guess and stab at answers to a question instead of simply saying that they don

Personally I hope that Honda DOESN'T do any upgrades to the car in the coming year(s). This is Honda's millenium car celebrating their 50th anniversary. It's design shows off Honda's engineering and technology. It should remain a statement of Honda at that point in time.

If Honda has to produce a car with more hp, more torque, more whatever, they should produce a different model. Classics attain that status because they are a statement that reflect a specific point in time.

Not "evolving" the design also makes them more valuable with time!

So then a 64.5 Mustang is not a classic because the Mustang is still around today?
