Default Steering Wheel

Good Afternoon,

Was just wondering what I could do to stop the wearing effects on the steering wheel.. The car is in a garage during the working hours.. And after that it has the windshield visor screen to protect the dash. I use conditioner for the steering wheel but it seems like it's just getting worse on top. Is my only option to get a steering wheel cover or is there other things i might be able to do. Thanks

What leather conditioner are you using and does it have UV protection?

I've been using the 303 aerospace protectant. Thats the only part of the steering wheel that is messing up. And ever since i purchased the car about 2 years ago, its just been getting worse without getting much sun. May be it gets bad as i drive normally and the sun hits it..?

is this from your hand always being in that area or the sun..or both? If you're willing to ditch your airbag get a MOMO...if not..get the Rick's wrap. I don't have any other suggestions as far as treating it but I'd hate to see some cover on it from an auto parts store.

Yeah, any and every leather steering wheel I've ever had has issues. Actually, my wife's mazda leather wheel is holding up well, but mostly expect to have to get the thing re-wrapped.

Maybe try a real leather cleaner and conditioner like Lexol? If that doesn't help at all, it's a good reason to get Rick's wheel.

You could just have the leather refinished or you would need a cover, but do not use 303 on your leather at all.
