STI or S2k

drive both and decide for yourself.
I've always been a honda fan since I had a CRX years and years ago. I tuned, motor swaped and boosted a few civics and I just loved how easy the cars are to work on and how well they are engineered. When I first saw the S2000 I was blown away. A few years later, I could afford one and I was like a kid at Christmas.
I also started auto-xing a few months before I bought my S2000 so I was already hooked on learning how to really drive. The S2000 was a no brainer for me.
Now that I've owned it for 4 years and put 80k on the odometer, I am still impressed with this little hot dog. Driving home lastnight with the top down screaming at 9k was pretty awesome. I just don't think I'd get that feeling in a sedan.
I've auto-xed a few EVOs and STIs and I never came away impressed. The cars are just not designed with pure sports in mind. Sure, they are fixed up pretty well but they still represent a compromise.

i think of them as complementary cars. get the s2 for drop top roadster sports car fun. get an sti for winter/wet days.
the sti is a sporty sedan, the s2k is a sports car. which do you want?

should get an evo. got more back space than sti, eats less gas and it's better seats for long trips and gear box is excellent in it.
coming from an Evo and STI species, I have to point these out for you:
1. You could fit a 56" flat screen tv in an Evo, but you can't in STI. There is no way in hell you could fit anything in S2k, not even a tiny coffee table from Ikea that's boxed for carrying it in your car.
2. Out of Evo, STI and S2000, S2000 feels like a true sports car. Seating arrangement and shifter is just perfect, the car handles a lot better (if you know how to drive) and it's more nimble. RWD is a better handling car than AWD car if you know how to drive.
3. AWD is safer than RWD and it's far more easier to drive. But if you know how to drive, RWD is 10x more fun than AWD
4. Evo or STI will have far greater potential for power + handling than s2000 for the money.
5. If you're tall, you will not like the s2000. I'm 5'11", fairely built body and I hate the fact that my legs squeezes my balls everytime I get into s2000, because I don't have the width to stretch my legs. I'm constantly adjusting my balls in s2000.
6. Evo and STI are an all out versatile car. I could guarantee you that you'll love having them. S2000 is a true drivers car. Very minimalistic without too much BS. I love my s2000 because I just love driving it. I loved my Evo because you are confident in rainny days, respect in the streets, and you know that you could easily kill an Ego of anybody on the road, track or anywhere else (with about $10,000 put in to it).
7. FOR DAILY DRIVING - you would be happier with Evo or STI. I have to constantly rent trucks or my GF's Evo to go buy things and bring it back home. It's not fun. Also, if you have a GF AND a dog, then you have to make a choice between riding with your dog or your gf. that's a tough decision to make. You can't put your dog in the trunk, you know?
8. Evo and STI's turning ratio sucks.
9. Most importantly, it will take you 6 hours to change your first spark plugs on the STI. Evo and s2000 just takes few minutes.
10. You wont become a better driver driving Evo or STI, because they make you look like a superman driving them, because they're very easy and forgiving cars to drive unlike s2000. s2000 is relatively forgiving car but it's still not a miata, if you know what I mean.
11. You can't go wrong with either car, but you can't compare those 2, because you're comparing steak with sushi.

I actually drove both already. I know they are sedan and sportcar but are similar that they are performance fun cars. Can I just ask why you guys bought your S2k over other sportcar/ fast cars?
you would have been sold to the S2000
I traded my sti for my s2000, what does that tell you?
The S2000 gets way more looks and its a blast to drive. If you want more power all you need is a turbo kit and a headgasket (400rwhp). Only guys look at you in an STI if you want girls to look then get the S2K.

Hey, this is easy, they don't make a convertable STI. Or Evo for that matter. For me the choice was Evo or S2000, and the Evo seemed to be aimed at a younger crowd. The S2000 is all around more fun to drive. Even Daily Drive. The Evo (and STI) is easier to go fast in. But the S2000 has both form and function. But while you're shopping, also test drive:
Mazda RX8 or the 3 series turbo
Mitsu Evo
Solstice/Sky w/Turbo
300Z
