I gutted my airbox and then dyno'd and it doesnt do shit.
I don't expect it to DO anything, I just want it to not hurt me. How did it compare to your baseline run?

When you gutted your airbox, did you do any sort of insulation on the box?

Guess I'll find out when I hook up a temp sensor.
Well that is the big issue. On very hot days doing under 30mph your going to experience extreme heat soak. Sure the heat will soak through the plastic a little bit but now add into the equation that the intake is now sucking in gobs of hot air and it makes the situtation that much worse.

Even at speed, you will loose hp -- as much as 10hp dyno proven as well as butt proven (I could feel the lack of power). It sure does sound sweet though...however just get an aftermarket intake and you'll be good to go with sound and performance

Why don't you spend 50 bucks and buy an ebay intake. This way, it'll save you the time and confusion of messing with a black plastic box that only loses power messing with it

Nah, don't want to buy an intake. I'll fiddlefart with this a bit, but you guys have filled me in on why it isn't gonna work. Sounds like top on, and insulate box... lose sound, help eliminate heatsoak regardless might be the win.

Thanks for the info, all.
