stock intake or aftermarket?
I'm new to the site and I've only had my S2000 for a couple months. I'm looking to upgrade my air intake but I'm not sure which intakes actually add power. I have read that the stock intake box is very good and most of the aftermarket intakes don't add much power. I would like to know which ones have shown actual increases in power and about how much they cost. Thanks for your help.
Yes, the OEM airbox is already very good. In general, aftermarket intakes are chosen because they are Cold Air Intakes (CAI), which the stock one really isn't. Therefore, an aftermarket one that is a CAI will prevent you from losing any HP from ingestion of hot air. Some intakes are also performance intakes as well and ones like AEM and Comptech have been shown to dyno a few HP in gains. Having said that, some people with these have also reported no gains. There is a lot of stuff posted on this subject. You should try to use the search.
