I owned a stock NA for a few years and test drove a Mazdaspeed Miata; and yet another modified Mazdaspeed Miata (can't recall how/what he tuned) that had even more horsepower and suspension upgrade prior to purchasing my stock 04 SS. I highly doubt even the modified Mazdaspeed could have kept up with the stock S2.

Nice video post!! Especially since i own the first and second place cars!!!
You guys are right i was talking about stock vs stock. I only brought in the supercharger because he said that he was lapping a cr edition when he last tracked his car in washington.

I've passed a viper and a porsche 911 on the track before. Doesn't mean the S2k is faster then either, it just means I was driving a whole lot harder. Hell, I've passed a ferrari 360 on the highway, does that mean the s2k is faster?

Completely stock and with the same driver an S2000 will be faster. I think even with a less than stellar driver in the S2000 I think it could be a touch faster. It has more legs and more rubber than the miata. Now if it is the MS-R package miata I think it could be closer but I think the s2000 would still win but a hair. But an MS-R with a less than stellar driver could beat an S2000 possibly. I'm thinking more of autox than track but I think it would translate to the track just about the same.

Even at autox, the MX5's are in a slower stock class and the S2k is at the top of its class. and Autox is where the cars are closest to even... that said, the miatas improve more with the same mods compared to the S2000, which is why in STR they are evenly matched.
