Default Stock or Modified?

How do you guys like your S2000? Do you prefer them stock or modified? It's winter here in New England and my S2k is in storage. I have a few parts piled up for the up coming spring and it finally hit me that the car really doesn't need anything for it to be fun or look better. I'm on my 2nd s2k and the previous one was pretty modified but this time around I feel as if its a shame to do it with this one. I love the whole tuning aspect of it all but the car is in mint shape with extremly low mileage. The purist inside of me is telling me to leave it stock keep it clean and enjoy it. The tuner side of me wants to go wild! I'm curious to hear everyones opinion on why they choose to either modify or not to modify.

i had the same dilemma, my previous car sucked a lot of money in mods, when i got the s2k i said i'd only do the absolute minimum and keep it basically stock, stock lasted about one month, did the intake/header/hfc/4.77s/springs. six months later i added a supercharger. decided to get back to basics as i was spending too much money (again). squashed the mod bug before it got out of hand again. it's funny how one mod leads to another and another.

i'd say the absolute minimum for mods (at least for me) is 4.77s (fantastic for stoplight driving), prm intake (great sound), hfc (exhaust's bottleneck), and springs (for looks).

I still have two S2000s.

One is very modified and keeps getting more modified-er. The other is stock and remains stock.

Remote start and iPod adaptor for the stock CR as the only mods.

Looks wise I dont think the S2k needs much modification. Little things like tuner wheels, a slight drop & front lip are always nice.
If you want some power get a mild reliable supercharger setup and exhaust.
I love my turbo, but the manner in which I have to drive it & constantly maintain the car now compared to stock has its draw backs.

I am a purist and I like it stock.

I want my S2000 to stay the way Honda intends it to be - mechanical and driving-feel-wise.

To me, one bit changed to an aftermarket part, is a bit less of a Honda.

I am also concern about the realiability issues. I trust that OEM is the most reliable way to go.

To me personally I feel that one mod always leads to another!

I like to stay close to stock. That said, I have done some simple mods to make the car competitive for Stock class autocross. I've changed the front swaybar, shocks, and cat back exhaust.

Nothing wrong with keeping the S stock, or modifying it to your likes.

There are 2 absolutely necessary mods: countersunk shift knob and upgraded stereo.
