stook got rear ended
She didn't want to waste a nice sunny afternoon waiting for the cop, so she took off after getting the info and a statement. His parents (the kid in the car that rear ended the stook) got the estimate this morning when my wife called, and he is sending out a check. If all goes well, we will leave allstate (his insurance) and state farm (our insurance) out of it.
The scratch was deep on the bumper (it looks kinda funny, because it looks like a screw got stuck in there).
According to Honda body shop, they can fill and repaint it to perfect condition without replacing the bumper.
Should I trust them? It only costs 380 bucks.

I think unless your posting from your wireless ISP laptop on your front seat it's too late now.
ALWAYs call the police even if they say they can't do anything (parking lot, neighbors child runs his bicycle into your car-door while parked in your driveway, etc). ALWAYS call your insurance co. and let then know it's not your fault. They will sometimes assist you in your fight if it means they won't have to pay. They will not usually hold it against you (in terms of (-) insurance points unless you become what they call "an accident prone risk".
Unfortunately I have to admit my S2K got rr ended at 550-miles by a crazed 318 Beamer woman. It still hurts so I try not to thinks about it. I immediatetly ordered a new one (2000) but later canceled it. I told the dealer if I could ever tell it was hit, don't bother to attempt the repair. It's perfect as they knew I would accept nothing less. It's been since April 2000 and I still haven't settled with her insurance yet (my decision--but soon).
