Is the Stook a lemon?
if you search for "lemon" on this board you'll see it's been discussed (to death) in the past.
you have here a small, committed and hyper-critical subset of S2000 owners. each and every one of us wants our car to be *perfect* and when it's not you hear about it.
is is less reliable than a Civic? probably. is it more reliable than a Fiat? of course. is it a lemon? no.

If you want the dirt on any car, just hit the boards. I am a member of the corvetteforum and the miataforum. If you read those boards, you'd wonder how they ever sell any cars. The S2K really is a Honda. Don't sweat it.
Mine is fine and running well today!
One other thing to point out is that this is just the first and second year of production for this car. It is at the envelope of engine technology and power.
This is Honda's first Rear wheel drive, Convertable, Sports car in 30 years! A lot has changed since then.
There is bound to be some quarks and now with the internet seeing more problems. If you really think about it. How many S2000 owners could/would you have met talked with on a daily basis if you didn't have the internet and this Board? Maybe 10 at best!!!(only on special occasions)
So its almost an ofcourse that your going to hear more bad things because there are so many more people your polling. Those that dont have problems stay quiet those that do YELL!
BTW: I have 27,000 miles no engine troubles/1-2 grind/Differential/clutch/or anything major. Only thing was the seat belt locked up once before the recall and well thats it!

Hi guys,
Just wanted to let you know my car started fine today. Got her warmed up and VTEC'd a little down the highway. No problems there either. All four wheels still rollin'.

Seriously, though, I don't think I've ever had such a totally trouble-free new car. It hasn't been to the dealer once in a year. They'll finally get to see it for its 15K service, which they have hopefully figured out how to do by now.
