hey all,
was going to a dinner party tonight and my cell phone became a casualty of the DROP!!!
DAMN IT!!!!
was wondering if any of y'all...(pinky,mingster,rick, or ANYONE ELSE,etc?)
have found a way to integrate a cell phone seeing as NO hondas that I KNOW OF come w/ the wiring already in place like bimmers, etc?

how nice would it be to have the phone lower the volume on the stereo when you have an incoming call and then you just hit talk and you have speaker phone etc...
could this be done fairly easily and economically?....

Also, for those of y'all w/ CELL PHONES who have BROKEN ONE BEFORE....is ALL the INFO inside.i.e.numbers,etc GONE FOREVER???
Or is there like Norton Utilites for cell phones that CAN retrieve my INFO like norton does from damaged disks, etc....

THANKS FOR the help, i figure if anyone knows it's you guys...thanks

Bpearl

uh, my phone has a hands free kit, which works very well.

my phone in its carrying case actually fits RIGHT under the parking brake...

I know its not as good as an integrated solution, but people on the other end say sound quality is VERY good.

I've used it on the bus before and people cant tell.

I doubt you'd have broken your SIM card. Just pull the card out and stick it in your new phone when you get it. The only time you would lose numbers fom your address book is if you have copied them from the SIM card to your phone's memory. Most people don't do this ... unless they have filled their SIM card up.

I'm trying to figure out how to put a speaker phone installation for my Nokia 8260 into my S2K. Nokia's speakerphone sucks, because the speaker is attached to the cigarette lighter plug, which puts it behind my elbow. Does anyone know where one can get a 2.5mm speakerphone kit that you can professionally install? Or better yet does anyone know who made the speakerphones that came in the original Mercedes Kompressor? It had a real nice balanced mic noise cancelation setup, that let you use the speakerphone with the top down.

As far as data loss goes, if the phone doesn't power up, you're done. If you can get it to power up, you can probably transfer the data to a computer. Check on www.fusionone.com and see if they have a data cable for your phone.

Well if your phone is analogue Pioneer has a piece that taps into the aftermarket mute lead.(only analogue phones though) Just did one on a S2000 harness last week and Rick did the same one but not through me just the the mod for the radio. Or you can get a hands free kit that will triger the mute lead on aftermarket radio's.

If you have the factory radio the mute lead puts out a (+) pulse. All mute leads off hands free kits or that sort pulse (-) A relay would be needed to switch that over and be tapped into the wiring of the car.

If you have a aftermarket radio you can tap into the harness with no problems.

Did I loose you yet? NO? good Yes I will try to explain more or you can write me personally.

The Motorola handsfree phone offered as an option in the Audi TT coupe and roadster would look tight in the S2000. Remember the mobile phone in Nyah's Audi TT roadster in Mission Impossible 2? That's the one I am talking about. I have been unable to find it on the Motorola site, however. There is a chance it may be an "Audi thing". I dunno.

I modified one of those hands free kits I believe it is made by CCM, because the part that plugs into the power outlet broke, so, I removed the part that plugs into the outlet and use the part where the phone sits as my phone charger and holder. I took a piece of styrofoam and glued it on the back and shaped it so it sits in the coin tray behind the cup holder compartment. Then I ran the power wire and spliced into the power outlet. I then purchased a wireless headset that plugs into my power outlet and I ran the cable under the console and up through the E-Brake hole and it plugs into the 2.5mm jack on the phone. So, now i have a hands free setup with no wires, and my phone has a holder and charger that sits in the coin tray. It works well for me. And I can talk on the phone with the top down.
