If it is just clutch buzz I may consider this 01, the red/black interior is so nice...

I've still got the cash in my pocket that I was going to use to pick up the 01 yesterday, if there was a local 03 in my price range I'd buy it tomorrow. Hell, I'd throw in a few extra hundred $ if someone brought their car up here.

Clutch buzz sounds exactly like a heatshield rattling, except that the heat shield will rattle at a certain rpm range both accellerating and decellerating. Clutch buzz only happens from about 4k rpm down to 3k rpm when decellerating.

Whether that's the problem or not, I don't know. the videos don't help much.

for some strange reason i was under the impression that clutch buzz was the noise that was made when in neutral and at a standstill with the clutch pedal released. Depress the pedal and the noise goes away???? Somebody correct me please.

I'll correct you. ;-) The TSB054 clutch buzz is as I described above.

FWIW the noise in the video never happened during accelerating

I have the same noise when decelerating around 3-4k rpm and hear it mostly in 3rd gear. After much research and even some work (new tranny and engine mounts, greasing the shift knob, etc.), I was able to reduce the noise slightly. I believe TSB054 may be the problem as well but do not think it's not a big problem, the dealership would just replace the clutch with a bigger disk. I do not think that the sound will affect the performance but just may be an annoyance. There is nothing wrong with the car, please correct me if I am wrong someone, as I am curious as well.

clutch buzz. I HAD that. after doing routine maintenance (tranny, diff, clutch fluid changes, grease clutch shifter fork thing) it only seems to do it on a rare occurrance now, but it is 95% better.

Jorton, the TSB054 for clutch buzz does not apply to an '06.

Starchland, if you had the TSB054 clutch buzz, the only thing that will quiet it is a new clutch disk. If people asked you, "Hey, man, what's wrong with your car?" before those maintenances they would still be asking the question. If people don't ask that question, you're either hearing something else or it's very mild.

trust me I had clutch buzz, very hard to miss and thus easily identifiable by watching this video because i know how it sounds and at what rpms (mostly in 3rd for me as well, you could feel the rattling through the pedals and through the shifter) but for whatever reason doesnt happen anymore. I used to think like yourself too until it cleared up. the only thing i can think of is that the new fluid dampened the vibration or the grease slowed down the vibrations.
