Default Strut Tower Brace...useless or worth it?

I have heard that STB's aren't worth anything other than a show piece. Do they actually stiffen things up, or not?

I have one, and when I installed it I could tell the differance. But when I installed the X-Brace man, now that was the way it should be. So yes the STB does stiffen it up, but the X-Brace will stiffen it more. I am sure if I installed them in the reverse order (X then STB) I would have never felt it.

But it is alway nice Eye-Candy. I have a Custom Polished CompTech STB, so it shines.

I think few would argue that the strut brace is needed or provides additional stiffness due to the S2000 suspension design.

That said, I do enjoy looking at it when I open my hood... One of hte pure cosmetic vanity items I have on my S2000!

I would say that either the Spoon or the Comptech STB are worth the money... everything else is just for show, and not actually made to strengthen the chassis

How are the Spoon or Comptech models differently designed so as to make them better functionally?

The Comptech design is annoying. The hex bolts always seem like they're going to strip, and on my 02, the hood wouldn't close normally. I'm going with a Spoon bar on my 03.

Spend your money on something else. Unless you want people
to think the "go-cart" like handling comes from something you
had to add after you bought the car.

My combo really reduced the twitchyness and made the steering feel tighter. Also calmed down the bump-steer. I will say it again-best $335 spent to date on car!!!!
