That's one of the reasons front-wheel is limiting in that case. When you punch it at the line, the weight transfers to the rear (front suspension decompresses, rear hunkers down), the front wheels no longer grip and the wheels happily spin!
However, in terms of weight balance, it helps to look at the whole picture dynamically. The way the suspension carries the weight during acceleration, braking, cornering and all those together makes for a much more complex picture...
