Personal preferences, I just prefer to stay with the original.
Guys, no need to fret.... he just has car-envy since his car is in the shop again... I take every opportunity to make light of "Porshe reliability" with 2 of my friends that have chronic problems with their cars (a '99 Boxster and a '00 911 ). The Boxster is on it's 2nd engine, and its 3rd transmission. The 911 bats about 1 in 10 when you try to get the top down... Yes, they are both beautiful cars. But I like to drive my cars... not have them towed to the dealership on a regular basis...
And just for the record, I'd say that more than half of S2K owners would be able to afford a Boxster if they so chose... I always know I made the right choice (when, for a second, I was considering a Boxster S) every time I see a Boxster with a woman in her late 40's in the driver's seat, in the middle of the summer, with the air conditioning blasting, on her cell phone, with the top up... Glad to know that Porsche is successfully marketing the car to its target market buyers...
Ever heard of different strokes for different folks ?? Or are you just trying a different stroke ??
sorry... just couldn't keep refrained...

- Money spent per week on gas for racing other cars on the highway = $20
- Price of a basket of chicken wings at Bone Daddy's shared among fellow s2000 owners while telling racing stories = $7
- Time and money wasted on s2ki.com lathering up fellow boarders with support and validation about how a s2000 is better than a Porsche (pronounced Por-sha) and the feelings of regret obtained when trying to resell a modified s2000 next year? = Priceless

I couldve easily afforded a Porsche, but went with the s2k instead. One of the main reasons I did was the fellow owners of the s2k. I find the owners I hang with to be very kind and intelligent. Most s2000 owners know more about Porsches than their owners.
boxster, you are a perfect example of why I prefer to hang with the s2k crowd.
BTW I dont plan to sell my s2k, even after I buy the 360 modena.
Do you even own a boxter? Post a picture, Id like to see yours.
Remember, at the end of the day it will still be a volkswagen.
Oh man ... this is one of those things that is really funny until it happens to you. You KNOW that scratched the clear coat. Those scratches will be there for a while. When my car gets dirty, I let it stay dirty until I can properly wash it. Dark cars show every little scratch ...
