Default Supercharger, Clutch, & LW Flywheel

I am currently researching the next set of mods for my S2000. I am definately going to do the new ESM to replace the checkvalve in my SC Kit. The early morning lag from the sticking valve is way too annoying! I was going to replace the clutch. While I'm in there, I was thinking about swapping out the flywheel to comptech's new 8.5lbs one. The question tho is what clutch would be appropriate for the supercharger and what effects (positive or negative) would the flywheel have to the car's drivability. Are the characteristics of the clutch/flywheel different beween an N/A S2K vs a SC'd? The last question is after I replace the clutch will the diff be my next concern. I do not abuse the car by dropping the clutch at high RPMs. But I'm still willing to make the diff stronger and send it in for the rebuild regardless of my driving habits.

Thanks!!

I have the ACT setup and TODA flywheel. One thing to note is it is much 'grabbier', and I would not recommend dumping the clutch with that setup. My car is N/A. Do not get the ACT clutch, it is just an OEM from a '00 model, which will exhibit the decel. noise at 3-4k rpm. Wesmaster maybe able to fill you in on the SC setup, he also has the ACT setup but without the lightened flywheel.

Hey man,

Davepk has the Toda flywheel and ACT PP with his SC. He like it alot. The flywheel helps offset some of the additional weight that the supercharger adds to your drive train. Personally, I would stay away from the ACT clutch as it's an OEM honda and the ACT Presure Plate is a HONDA PP in which they have just bent out the fingers to get the additional clamping force. (as told by a reliable source).

I have just put in the Comptech Flywheel and the Lightened Star Stage 3 clutch and Star PP. I will be writing a formal review later, but all I have to say right now is WOW! I took 9.1lbs out of the drive train and boy does the car rev now! As for the clutch, the fvcker grips like mad. I can chirp/spin my tires with out even trying or launching.

I will write a longer review later. But so far I have 400 miles on the clutch and a full day at Laguna. I am running at laguna again tommorrow too!

I can't wait.

I added the ACT HD Pressure Plate and Street disc a while back. Pushing the clutch down didn't take any more force (even though my stock clutch seemed to be harder to push down than most other S2Ks), but the clutch comes off the floor with much more force, and grabs closer to the ground as well. For the first month or two after the clutch was installed I chirped 1st through 3rd gear. That's dissapeared now that the clutch has a good 10K miles on it. I still like the clutch, it grabs nice and hard. I didn't upgrade my flywheel.
