clutch question
My car has 40k miles and I am going to have the clutch changes because it feels like my pilot bearing is going out. I think it would be okay if I did not change my flywheel because I still have plenty of friction. Therefore there is no metal on flywheel contact. I had the same problem on my integra years back, and I kept the stock flywheel. I changed the clutch at 90k and the new one was still working great at 150k. Does anyone agree that my flywheel is not worn? Second question is what clutch to get for long life and future fi. I'm looking at clutchmasters kevlar stage 3 or 4.
Honda would probably you buy a new one to put more money in their pocket, but I had mine resurfaced when I did my clutchmasters stage 3 a couple years back with no issues. Its a stepped flywheel so they have to machine off exactly the same amount off the center part as they do on the surface that contacts the clutch disc.
