Guys

I need some advice. After some track work, I have decided to upgrade the suspension. I want to reduce the sudden body lurch that makes the car feel like it is going to brake away but doesn't. My research points me to the following:

1: Upgraded springs. Cheap but will degrade my existing shocks quicker than stock.
2: Full suspension kit. Expensive but better quality and adjustable.
3: Mugen Stabilizers. These I don't know about, apart from what is mentioned on the King website.

What does the forum think? Has anybody got experience of the Mugen stabilizers? Is there anything i've missed?

All information is gratefully received.

There are numerous threads regarding the Mugen front sway bar. It is recommended by many and does reduce body roll and oversteer tendencies (use search).

There have been a number of threads dealing with springs and dampers (see http://www.s2000online.com/forums/forumdis...php?forumid=22). No consensus on any subject, but interesting reading. I and others are still researching the options.

Cdelena thanks. Plenty of reading material. The Mugen stabilzer does sound promising although I'm more interested in body control and flatter cornering stance than only controlling the amount of oversteer. Most forum users have only installed the front 31.8. Why not both front and rear bars?

Utah S2k. Car first registered 6 September 1999. No modifications as yet. Does that qualify as 99 stock?

actually, that would make it MY2000 Stock (Model Year 2000 was the first year of course).

the mugen front bar will (in fact) result in increased body control. i'd also consider the Spoon X-Brace as a good option to complete the package.

if you're unsatisfied with the stiffness of the suspension or would like increased adjustibility of the suspension than many have pointed to either the Tein or the Mugen setups (the Moton stuff has been talked about but i have not heard of anyone installing it).

much of this has been discussed in the past - i'd suggest doing a search on 'suspension' or on 'body roll' or the like.

Mad Max is in the UK, their model years are a little different than they are here...so I hear.

Yea, do a search MM. There have been lots of discussions about this topic...

Welcome to the board!

Thanks Greg. I should have really done the search before posting my query and will do my homework in the future.

Definately going for the 31.8 Mugen stabilzer. Next track action isn't until the end of April, then three more throughout our summer. If the part introduces the extra control i'm looking for, I will leave it there as I don't want too many modifications. Has any body in the UK/Europe bought this item and if so, from where?

Thanks again
