Why not swap a Hasselgren Formula Atlantic 4AG in the car? 240hp, 1.6L 10k redline You'll have to rebuilt it every 1000 miles!
Or just do some insane NA build on the S2k or NSX engine, I am sure for the $ you would be looking at you could make some insane high reving beast that will be as impractical and will need rebuilt as often as an F1 engine.

How are you even going to source an f1 engine?

Just up keep for an f1 motor is enough to make you broke. Rebuild is once every 3 times they race it.

Figure of speech. The point was that it will take an insane amount of time, money, and labor to end up with a highly impractical engine just for a marginal increase in street performance over a production engine.
Another argument for this theory is that these engines are race spec. There's no VTEC to aid in low-end driveability. You'd have to do that 7000 RPM clutch dump to get started.

It's like having the S2000 stuck in high lift / long duration mode all the time.

Another point of view is the current F1 engines have around 800hp. It doesnt take an insane amount of money to get this much power from a turbo F20C. Be easier to live with as well. ( except from the differentials point of view).

Get this instead. My dream car would be an NSX R GT with this engine swapped in.

It would be easier to source and IRL Honda Indy V8 but you also have to figure in the cost of a tranny and an ECU.

Ahhhh the smell of ethanol in the morning
