I just looked at my Civic owners manual. The dealer put my personal information in the front cover and highlighted everything in the book he thought was important.

I asked my selling dealer not to do this, among a list of other things I felt were important.

Why do I feel this is important? Say a criminal steals your car. He has your address and garage door opener...

Say a criminal steals your car...he has your registration and insurance card too. Most states don't let you use a PO Box for your registration.

The odds are the thief will look for the registration before he looks for the owners manual.

Good idea. Due to the extra 'requests' that I made before purchase, my salesman came up with the idea himself that he wouldn't touch the owner's manual (write all the info in it, and staple his card to it), figuring I'd rather either do it myself or leave the manual clean.

Good addition to the Dealer Letter...
