I always wanted to own a crap load of cars.
Figures I just left spyderchat to come here & see a post about MR2s
I just sold my 03' 2zz swapped MR2 last week

I would consider the 2 cars similar in some regards. They are both small, 2 seats, convertible, 4 cylinder.
But thats where it ends. The handling characteristics on a mid-rear engine car is much different than a front-mid engine car. Snap oversteer etc.
I want to build something different now, Im looking to buy an S2k by next week. Looking forward to easy accessibility on both sides of the engine

You have an s2000. To say that you have a mid engine car is correct. But to say that you have an MR2 makes very little sense.
That's like saying owning a Ford Mustang is the same as owning a G35. Both are front engine, rear wheel drive. But a Mustang is certainly not a G35.

I think they define it as having the Center of Gravity behind the front axle

Okay so I was thinkin about this the other day. Isn't the S2000 "technically" a MR2? Its labeled as a FR class car since the engine is mounted in the front. However, the engine is mounted behind the front axle. And it's a 2 seater. Which, if I'm not mistaken, is the definition of the MR2 (Mid-engine RWD 2 Seater. Some say Midship Runabout 2 str) in Toyota's car. Would I be wrong in saying I have a MR2 again? (I had one of the 1988 SuperCharged ones a few years ago).
Agree? Disagree?
