Default Tein hood damper problem

Whats up guys. Ive just bought a set of tein hood dampers, and have a little bit of a pickle. The ball/bolt that goes into the fender broke in half, separating the threads from the ball. I got the threads out of the fender, but now cant put that damper in. Does anyones know where I can purchase another one of those bolts??? Thanks for the help!

What happened to break the head off the shaft of the bolt? I love mine but I would like to know so I don't do it.

Try Jb Weld on the broken bolt/head if you can't find the replacement.

Thanks!

Yea, I overtorqued them. Use your fingers, and not a ratchet.

I don't understand how hood dampers can be a good thing when used on an aluminium bonnet that's meant to be 'dropped' shut. Do you have to push down on the bonnet to latch it?

No, it can be dropped from 8"-10" or so.

When the bonnet is low the dampers are pushing it back more than up so you can still drop it and it will close. It's only when it get above about 30 degrees that the dampers are at the right angle to hold the hood.
