Default The terms 'ricer' and 'riced out.'

Some of us, er, ... mature folk, are not always up to date on the slang of the young. When I first saw the terms 'ricer' and 'riced out' here on this forum, I was afraid there was an ethnic slur hidden behind them. I am not sure I get the meanings exactly right, but I believe that 'riced out' refers to a really ordinary Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Mazda or other Asian vehicle which has suffered the tasteless indignity of excessive badging, fire swirl appliques, repulsively overchromed wheels and/or extreme front or rear spoilers. In that case, a 'ricer' would be one who rices out his vehicle, and generally revs up his pathetic little engine very loudly at stoplights.
Do I have it right? In my neck of the woods, we suffer too much sight of Cadillac and Lincoln sedans with the padded canvas pseudo-convertible roof looks and disgustingly overdressed and chromed light alloy wheels, paraded around at funereal speed under the piloting of doddering octagenarians. I need a term for these abominations which is at least as pejorative as 'riced out.' Any suggestions?

That had to be some of the best language I've read on here in a long time (aside from the guy that gave the "keeping the environment free of such-and-such"'s explanation of his sig).

In short, yes, that's exactly what it means. The fake convertible roof on a Lincoln or Caddy is the equivalent ricer car for the retired crowd.

> Good grief, is that Hall of Shame funny! It reinforces my respect for the looks of the S2000. Very simple, very business like - it lets the machinery speak for itself.
> I was also glad that the page points out quite emphatically that the term 'rice boy' is absolutely in no way a racial epithet. There is a longer explanation there, for those who wish to read it. I now know that I can laugh all I want to at the 80 year old rice boys tooling around my neck of the woods here on Hilton Head Plantation in their riced out Cadillac Sedans de Ville and Lincoln Town Cars.

I live in Naples,Fl so sympathize with you big time. How about " that car is totally blued out" referring to the usually blue-haired principal occupant(s) of said vehicles. That would make the drivers bluers, blueys or just old people with poor taste and even worse vision.

I think overall the term is quite racial, but then again, we do make fun of white trash mobiles like Camaros and Mustangs, so, all in all I think once you open Pandora's box, well, it's all racial from here on out. There's fun as long as people don't get overly excited with its usage and that direct racial slander is not associated. However thin the boundary, I choose not to use it, a kind of degradation that stems from insecurity, whatever that insecurity may stem from.

Yes, when I see the same treatment on a German car, I say that it's been "WienerSchnitzeled Out."

I was also unsure if it was a racial slur or something....i am actually still not sure. I hope nobody thinks that my screen name is a racial slur or anything either.....when i was a kid my sisters called me buckwheat because my hair was always all out of wack.
also the first saleman i went to had crazy buckwheat hair he was pakastani. I really grew to like him. he was a nice guy.
Around here the phrase all guidoed out refers to a untastefully modded mustang or camaro. I know its really not a racial thing but in a way it is. I try really not to use the phrase riced out .
I have even seen the phrase riced out for mustangs and so forth(non asian cars) in magazines.
also the caddys and lincolns that have more shine and the fake tops are called pimp mobiles here.
in the 80's in north jersey camaro iroc had the phrase ..Italian ..Retard ...Out... Cruising....it is pretty funny but racial. I had a firebird..i use to thing maybe people say that about me.
instead of riced out i try to use really cheese.....fart mobile....nopi lover.....car mag hag....I know it might be way to politically correct
but if if i have to think in my head would this offend anybody.....then i should not be saying it ...right or wrong...say what ya want but terms that reffer to specific types of human races or nationalitys bothers me. I've actually have though of changing my screen name here on s2ki......I hope my name does not offend anyone.....it really never even came to me til my father said to me i hope no one things your being racial or anything. It has just been a nickname for me because some days i just run my fingers through my hair and it sticks up like the character buckwheat. If my name offends anybody please let me know the last thing i want to do is offend anybody. I agree very much with
DJ ...well stated........It comes easily off the tongue until the words off someone elses tongue effects you!
