The terms 'ricer' and 'riced out.'
I don't see why anyone would view ricer or any similar term as racial unless they are being hypersensative and possibly looking to be offended. They are terms that just poke fun at particular cultures of people who spend money on a car and actually make it look worse than it did before they started. These terms help us visualize what other people are describing. I think they are useful and funny.

Lol, I always referred to those German cars as "krautburners"

I think tastefully done cars don't fall into those kind of categories. It's the overdone vehicles that garner these types of comments.

I must say my fav. pic from that page would have to be the "Cross Drilled Rotors"! Doesn't Wal-Mart carry fake wheels with the fake rotors? What a bargin that would be! Get the Combo! lol
This whole Anti Ricer thing is so dumb.
Why do we care how kids/adults "dress up" their cars?
I grew up in a redneck city and the ricers then were the owners of the jacked up monster trucks who never drove on a dirt road . . .
What is the big deal?
Obviously there are some rewards to ricing up imports/domestics/trucks/oldfolkmobiles . . . The rewards are getting chicks who like riced up imports/domestics/trucks/oldfolkmobiles
Anyways - before I stop my rambling I would like to say that if you are bothered by ricers because they are making their car into something it's not . . . a fast looking car that's slow for example . . . you should be bothered by many other ricer groups like the bald men with rug ricers , women with plastic boobs ricers , and anyone wearing stretchy biker/aerobic shorts who do not excercise ricers

but seriously, all those "ricer" groups you just mentioned get a lot of criticism as well...i mean many people will whisper under their breath about a bad hair piece...big trucks that don't have any mud on them...ever. How many times do you hear other women say...you know they're not real, and we reply...feel real, smell real, taste real, good enough for me...
I don't think a four cylinder can ever have a "True" dual exhaust...real dual exhaust comes from having a separate cat, muffler, pipe, etc, for each bank of cylinders in a V6, V8, etc, right? that's the way I always understood it...
BTW, just a distinction that I wanted to point out...The way I always understood a ricerocket to be is when someone takes a car like a civic or neon or whatever and puts a body kit (preferrably ill fitting and poorly painted), a huge spoiler, and some vtec stickers on a mazda, type-r stickers on an 82 prelude, etc. In other words, all (bad) show and no go.
The guys who are okay in my book are the ones who actually have a CAI, and an exhaust that adds power, not just a flatulant exhaust note, and maybe a supercharger or cam change or something. In other words, guys that have made some effort to make their cars faster....I am still not a fan of the body kits, but it's their car, let them do what they want
